Pre-Fall 2010.

Following on from my Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2010 review, here is my Pre-Fall 2010 entry! When I saw this from the Moschino Cheap and Chic collection (Cheap and Chic is the diffusion line) I chuckled to myself and knew it would have to go first! This is so typical of the brand and constantly reminds me why they will always be my favourite. My chuckling continued when I saw this outfit by Miu Miu...what can I say, I am easily amused! I thought the eskimo theme was the sweetest and how perfect does the model look in it? The rest of the collection isn't as literal as I'm making it seem but didn't excite me as much as the above outfit! My ultimate favourite areas to design for are embellishments and dresses (because it is what I like to wear) so I don't often pay much attention to highly specialist areas, like tailoring...and I probably don't appreciate it as much as I should! However, when I came across this outfit by Givenchy, my mouth dropped. It looks so slick, so sharp and so damn clever! The colours are easy to wear and if I was to ever own a 'really formal outfit', it would certainly have to look something like this!I adored the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2010 Valentino show and was keen on seeing the Pre-Fall 2010 collection... and it is impossible to be disappointed with it. The bandage bow dress is extraordinary and I strangely quite like the tan and red colour combination. The middle outfit is just divine with all my favourite elements... floaty fabric, waisted and stunning paillette embellishment. The last outfit I have featured is quite the curiosity for me. I can't tell if the rose is formed with the fabric and then completely encrusted in beads, or if it is simply trompe l'oeil achieved through beading, rather than a print. Nevertheless, it is breathtaking and I hope to see it in person one day!On the subject of embellishment, I could've cried from delight at the use of embellishment in Vera Wang's collection. The embellished vest dress is so easy to wear and the multicoloured paillettes in a semi-braided pattern just shows that Vera Wang is first class when it comes to evening looks.

Now that I have caught up, I will get on with blogging about the current shows that are happening this very moment in New York, so keep a look out!
