Yumi and Ted Baker are examples of some great brands and I have been asked to publish the following information on my blog for further brand awareness.
"For a fashion brand in the UK, there are few things more important than having a great selection of dresses for fashion lovers to choose from. Whether it’s maxi dresses, floral summer dresses or more formal evening wear, a fabulous range of dresses is absolutely vital.
Two brands in the UK have been reaping the rewards of good publicity in recent months. Ted Baker dresses are as popular as ever, and in the past year the brand has seen unparalleled growth in its profit margins. Small label Yumi dresses has also gained a significant following in a reasonably short time – but more about that later.
Ted Baker enjoyed an incredibly successful year ending January 2012, with a 14% increase in sales. Sales totalled a whopping £148.6 million in the UK and Europe, with an 8.7% increase in profits. In the USA, however, retail sales have skyrocketed even higher, increasing by 69%, or £34.9 million.
Ted Baker’s Chief Executive, Ray Kelvin, said: “The group's excellent results for the year, delivered against a challenging trading backdrop, are testament to the strength of the Ted Baker brand, our collections and, above all, the energy and commitment of our team in bringing Ted to the world stage.”
Yumi is also getting its brand name out, and seems to be tackling it the old-fashioned way. Many stars have endorsed the product, and by the look of things, it’s working. Lucy Mecklenburgh, from The Only Way is Essex, has been repeatedly spotted in Yumi dresses in recent months. Amy Childs, from the same show, has also been spotted in Yumi’s vintage-inspired range. By getting the brand name into the spotlight, it seems to be on the verge of really exploding onto the scene.
Although fashionistas may already be fans of the label, it’s set to widen its audience in the coming year. UK society is very much led by celebrity culture, and it’s all about who was seen wearing what. With a great celebrity following already, look out for more Yumi garments popping up throughout the next 12 months.
Ted Baker and Yumi are two brands that are establishing themselves – albeit at different ends of the fashion scale – regardless of the difficult economic times. And this can only be a positive indicator for other brands, proving that it really can be done."
